Creative Writing
Wednesday 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Our students will learn to expand their storytelling skills as they polish a piece of writing or complete a comic book. They will work on and share work with each other in a fun, supportive environment as they develop their understanding of the key building blocks of great storytelling. Whether 3 or 30, everyone has a story to tell! At the end of the session our little authors will have a "release" party where they will share their work with peers and other guests! This class is recommended for ages 4 and up, as children will at a minimum need to be able to write letters and simple words.
Thursday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Our students are enthusiastic about our music and movement class. Music is a natural, joyous part of cihldhood, children exposed to music benefit greatly in many areas of life including language development, self expression, memory skills, concentration, social interaction, and listening. Students in this class will have an opportunity to experiment with different instruments and learn about rhythm!
Thursday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Come on in and join the cast and crew! Our little acrots and actresses will perform everything from improvised skits to Shakespeare, kid style! They will create their own costumes, construct their own puppets and perform a puppet show for the school, and enjoy a visit from professional puppeters. This class of pretending and fantasy is one of the children's favorites.
Fridays 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Teach children what fun it can be to exercise! Children will get fit through dance, music, wiggling, and giggling!
Tuesday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Each child will tie on an apron and don their che's hat! Our young chefs will learn how to use recipies designed especially for young children. Kindercook'n delivers a wonderful opportunity for each oung che to learn, kitchen safety, nutrition, manners, place settings and food preparation. Each unique session is designed to familiarize children with diverse foods while they experience what it feels like to create and taste scrumptious recipies themselves! Building self-confidence, creativity, and a life-long skill are important ingredients in this program.
Tuesday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
The Pee Wee Picasso program has been designed to encourage the young artists to embrace their creative and dramatic selves. We believe that learning should ve fun, and promote original thinking while encouraging artistic expression. Children will have the opportunities to work with a variety of mediums including tempera and watercolors, clay and wire, and oil and chalk pastels.
Monday and/or Wednesday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
La Clase Divertida! "The Fun Class!" A complete early learning Spanish curriculum for children. This class will cover the alphabet, vowels, counting to 20, family members, colors, animals, and oral conversation. We will also learn about fun cultural concepts such as hands-on crafts, songs, cooking projects, and stories!
Inventors and Thingamajigs
Wednesday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
This class will unlock your cihld's imagination and give them opportunities to invent robots, rolling objects, and thingamajigs. Children will love making all kinds of exciting projects, learning about famous inventors, and directing their own investigations!
Thursdays 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
We will focus on stimulating children's curiosity about the natural world leading to a sense of self discovery. Looking, noticing, and questioning will be emphasized. We will focus specifically on exploring, sorting, graphing, counting, and discussing math in the best setting for learning--nature itself!
*This class involves off-site field trips and is limited to 10 children, sign up fast!
Tuesdays 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
This yoga class is especially for the young at heart and will introduce basic yoga poses and child-centered meditation skills. We will strive to help each child cultivate a sense of understanding and respect for themselves, others, and the world around them.
